This student has no idea what to do and the work does not make any sense at all.
1-2
This student understands a little bit about the topic. This student has a tiny amount of imagination. His/her work is not creative. He doesn’t understand the author’s style.
3-4
The student shows a poor amount of work. This work has a lack of detail and imagination and he/she shows a little technique.
5-6
The student shows enough understanding, creativity and detail. He/she shows an awareness of technique.
7-8
The student has a good understanding and imagination. He/she shows lots of details and technique.
9-10
The student shows a high level of understanding and has much detail. His/her work is very creative.



Criterion B: Organization

The student’s organization is very bad. He/she hasn’t shown a good amount of work. He/she did not hand in the work they were supposed to do.
1-2
The student is confused. He/she is poorly organized.
3-4
The student’s work shows some organization. The paragraph structure and grammar is weak.
5-6
The student’s work is quite organized but needs some improvements. His/her work is clear and enough to understand. His/her paragraph structure and grammar is good.
7-8
The student’s work has been organized. His work is clear and his paragraph structure is well expressed.

Criterion C: Style and Language Usage

The student does not write anything i.e. no homework. or
The student has handed in something that does not make any sense.
1-2
The student uses wrong vocabulary and makes lots of mistakes in spelling and punctuation. The student does not use different vocabulary for different people.
3-4
The student’s use of vocabulary has some mistakes in spelling, pronunciation, punctuation and paragraphing. The student tries to make a correct choice of vocabulary.
5-6
The student usually uses a good vocabulary. He/she has made occasional mistakes. The student makes a correct choice of vocabulary.
7-8
The student uses correct vocabulary and makes almost no mistakes
9-10
The student always uses correct vocabulary and makes no mistakes.
